The project “Innovation of the waste-to-energy concept for the low-carbon economy: Development of novel carbon capture technology for thermochemical processing of municipal solid waste (Carbon Capture and Storage from Waste – CCSW)” is implemented by the University of Latvia in cooperation with its partner – Viduskurzemes AAO, Ltd. (Kurzeme Regional Waste Management society).
Cooperation partner Viduskurzemes AAO, Ltd. is a waste management company founded in 2009. Its main activities are waste collection, transportation, sorting and recycling into solid recovered fuels. The experience gained during these years has allowed to develop a new waste management system in its region of operation, Saldus and Brocēni counties, thus reducing the negative impact of waste on the environment.
